2016 China Summer Programme Important Dates

Important Dates for 2016 China Summer Programme:

• Application of Interest is due by Monday, May 11, 2015
• Application Fee of $250, refundable if not selected, is due Friday, May 22, 2015.
• A one-paged essay, in English, on why you are interested in going to China consisting of at least   250 words is due before Friday, May 22, 2015. Essay is to be typed in size 12 Times New Roman font and must include applicant’s name, the date, and a title.
• Recommendation letters- 1 from homeroom or core class teacher, 1 from Chinese teacher, due by Friday, May 22, 2015. Other letters of recommendation from coaches, pastors, neighbors, or close family friends will also be accepted as a part of the student’s application.
• Individual students will be notified of their time for an interview with a panel of three WIA teachers. The interviews will be scheduled the week of August 10th.
• Announcement of acceptance to the program will be made Friday, August 21, 2015.
• First payment of $470 is due by Tuesday, September 1, 2015.  
• The minimum Chinese proficiency requirement for participating in this program is Youth Chinese Test (YCT) Level II. If this requirement has not been met, applicants will not be considered for the program.
