ATLANTA, GA -- Four classmates since Kindergarten honored with prestigious GHP invitation. Isaiah Anderson, Bryce Johnson, David Lee and Ari Renai are all students in their junior year of high school; Isaiah at Stockbridge High School & the rest at Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School. All four of these young men are leaders in a variety of activities in their school as well as National Honor Society members. As rising six graders in 2013, all four attended a full immersion Mandarin study program at Nanjing University in the inaugural annual trip with Wesley International Academy.
Isaiah Anderson will be in the 2019 Engineering Program following in his interests and honors in the field of technology. He is a member of the National Technical Honors Society, National Society of High School Scholars, President of Technology Student Association, Technical Advisor of the Tiger Coding, Science Talent Search Nominee Club as well as member of the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders. He is a former attendee of the National Youth Leadership Forum engineering division. He sees his future as a student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and to major in Mechatronics with the ultimate goal of integrating engineering technology with medicine to produce better medical treatments/solutions.
Bryce Johnson will study Mandarin Chinese at GHP this summer. He is a member of the Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bryce is an avid baseball player playing for both his high school team and the Ambassadors, where he also mentors middle school players. Last summer, Bryce was selected to participate in the TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program at the Georgia Tech Research Institute where he and his team developed an automated bicycle safety vest. While he has not yet decided where he would like to attend college, he is interested in several engineering disciplines, including architectural engineering.
David R. Lee, Jr. will participate in the GHP Communicative Arts program this summer. He is a published author and a featured writer with the Afro-American Newspapers. He is a member of the soccer team, the Beta Club and tutors Mandarin to elementary school students. David’s interest in sports and law is directing his college search efforts to the Washington DC area where he aspires to study Political Science to ultimately pursue a law degree.
Ari Renai was accepted in GHP following his sophomore year in 2018 for Chinese. This year, he participated in cross country, pole vault, a musical, and circus arts. This coming summer, he will be attending a study abroad program for a month in Paris to take French language courses. Ari plans on possibly majoring in liberal arts, international or social work fields, and minoring in studio art. He also plans on attending study abroad programs while in college.
