The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated widely throughout China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The festival takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar (October 4th), and it is usually celebrated by offering sacrifices to the moon, eating mooncakes, and spending time with relatives and friends. At Wesley Academy, it is not only important for our students to learn the Chinese language, but to also understand traditions and holidays that are significant components of Chinese culture.
